Doing a thorough decontamination wash is important within the first month to make sure that no contaminants have ruined or bonded to the coating, rendering it useless. It is also important to make sure there are no manufacturer defects. It is an easy process and generally takes about an hour to make sure everything is the way it is supposed to be.
