Porsche 911 Carrera 4S - Coating

Michael had brought me his E46 BMW M3 for a Dull Detail, his 2017 Audi S6 for Opti-Coat Pro+, and now it was time to bring his newly acquired 997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S in for a light correction and Opti-Coat Pro+, Opti-Glass Pro, and Opti-Guard Leather/Fabric.

I learn a lot with this vehicle mainly because of how newer Porsche black is to work with. It is very soft and this causes you to polish it differently. I was able to removed a lot of the oxidation on the car, which can be seen in the first photo because the previous owner had a clear bra on the front end for protection. I also removed the factory rear fender stone guards and replaced them with Opti-Coat PPF in the same shape.

The interior fabric and leather also were coated to help maintain the cleanliness and to prevent fading from harmful UV rays. The Glass was coated with Opti-Glass Pro for chemical and water resistance for about two years.

Looking forward to seeing this car out and about, as well as back in my garage any time! Thanks Michael, enjoy!

Track Day - Pocono Raceway

Had the awesome opportunity to attend a track night at Pocono Raceway and this time did the Full Infield. Much different feel and larger run than before but it was fun. I now have to decide what to do for brakes. Fluid I know what I am going to do but three times in one day I had heard that "there is no such thing as a warped rotor" and that pad material can build up and cause the rotor to vibrate under hot braking. I don't subscribe to this yet because it doesn't seem completely plausible to me but I know that when hot, these two year old Adams Rotors and EBC Redstuff pads vibrate and I usually am an all or nothing kind of guy when it comes to tires and brakes. Welcoming any input on this.

I have one quick video from two laps on session 3/4 and I was using Harry's Lap Timer that day and my best lap time was 2:03.75 in the Novice Group (someone in the Advance Group had 1:58 so that made me feel pretty good).

A few laps from session three of Track Night in America at Pocono Raceway. Full infield track in our 2008 Volkswagen Golf R32.

Volkswagen GTI

Miranda brought me this Mk2 GTI for a wash and wax to breathe some life back into what was once a show car and to look at the stereo system. Anyone that knows me knows that wiring is a huge pet peeve of mine and the state of the wiring in this car was beyond bad. I cleaned up a lot of connections and verified a lot of the concerns. Miranda's call at the end was to remove all of the equipment, which I did. Regardless, my manta of "do it right or do it twice" still stands to this day. Thanks Miranda, enjoy!

Opti-Metal Coat

I had mentioned before that my parents have a raw copper kettle that was given to them over 30 years ago as a wedding gift and since it is raw metal, it is prone to oxidation. My mom was tired of polishing it all the time, even with Optimum Metal Polish, so I brought it home and after polishing it, coated it with Opti-Metal Coat. It's a lifetime metal coating for finished or raw metals that can withstand up to 1,000ยบ F. No more need for her to polish!
